Felicia and her team are translating and engraving Amu’s music in music notation software in order to make his work available and easily accessible online. Some of the other members include Amu’s daughter and Ghanaian music composers and ethnomusicologists. The Score Project also works with the Amu Foundation, which consists of some members of the Amu family.
The goals of the website include selling music sheets, providing education about Amu, and making his music more available to scholars, performers and music lovers. This site has an educational side as well a fun music side. The goal for the website design is to create a good balance/mix of these two sides.
To start off our Web Design process, we started to bring in inspiration into the mural board, from gathering Ghanaian culture, music playback designs, web page designs, typefaces and color palettes. We wanted to keep the scholarly look, but also keep it lively, so we added more color, through buttons, and the footer.
